Our Founder

Hairston N Hairston

Founder & Executive Director | 20-Year U.S. Army Veteran

After two decades of service in the United States Army, our founder witnessed firsthand the challenges veterans face when transitioning back to civilian life — including the devastating reality of veteran homelessness. Driven by a deep sense of duty and compassion, HNH was established to ensure that no veteran who served this nation is left without a safe, dignified place to call home. The organization is built on the values instilled through military service: integrity, discipline, commitment, and care for fellow service members.

Our Mission

At Hairston N Hairston (HNH), our mission is to honor the service and sacrifices of our nation's veterans by providing safe, secure, stable, and affordable housing that upholds their dignity, independence, and peace of mind. Founded on the firsthand experience of a 20-year U.S. Army veteran, HNH is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment where veterans are respected, valued, and never left to face life's challenges alone. Through compassionate service, meaningful community connections, and access to resources that support physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, we strive to empower veterans to regain stability, strengthen their independence, and thrive beyond military service.

Our Vision

Our vision is a California where veteran homelessness is eliminated and every veteran has a safe, affordable, and dignified place to call home. We envision communities where those who have served our nation receive the respect, compassion, stability, and support they deserve, regardless of the challenges they face. Through housing, connection, and renewed opportunity, HNH seeks to create a future where no veteran feels forgotten, no veteran must face hardship alone, and every veteran has the opportunity to live with dignity, independence, purpose, and lasting peace of mind.
